What is myki?
myki is Victoria’s new smart card ticketing system and replaces Metcard and V/Line tickets and paper tickets on buses in some regional cities.
myki is a reusable plastic smart card that you store value on to pay for your fare on public transport.
myki cards are available for the following fare types:
- full fare
- concession
- seniors
- child

- 17 years and over and no concession entitlement

- VPT Student Concession Card holders
- Pensioner Concession Card holders
- Health Care Card holders
- War Veterans/War Widows Transport Concession Card holders
- Non-Victorian Seniors

myki can store the following products:
You can register your myki to protect the balance in case your myki is lost or stolen. Your balance is safe from the moment you report your myki lost or stolen.
You can even have your myki personalised with your name if you want. This will help you to know whose myki is whose. If you do want to personalise your myki you need to do it at the time of purchase. Only a myki purchased online or via the call centre (13 6954) can be personalised. In the future you will be able to buy a personalised myki from the MetShop or the myki discovery centre at Southern Cross station.
