Free travel pass

Some people are eliglible for free travel on Victorian public transport:

Free travel passes
Free travel passes are available to eligible passengers and can be used on Victoria’s public transport network subject to terms and conditions. Most free travel passes are issued at the Metlink Central Pass Office.

  

CPO issued passes:

The following travel passes are available subject to eligibility: 

  • Access Travel Pass
  • Charitable Organisation Travel Pass
  • Retired Employee Travel Pass
  • TPI War Veteran’s Travel Pass
  • Travel Trainer Travel Pass
  • Vision Impaired Travel Pass
  • War Veteran’s Travel Pass

 

Authorised free travel pass holders must carry their pass when travelling as proof of concession entitlement.

 

Non CPO issued passes:

  • Companion Card
  • Free Travel Vouchers
  • Sunday Pass

 

Companion Card
Issued by the Department of Planning and Community Development to those who need the assistance of a companion, the companion card provides free travel for the carer/companion of the cardholder on all public transport services.

Free travel vouchers
Victorian Seniors Card holders and Victorian Pensioners receive vouchers for free travel on public transport within Victoria annually. Find out more online or contact Metlink on 131 638.

 

Sunday Pass
Victorian Seniors Card holders, Disability Support Pensioners and Carer Payment recipients under 60 who live in Victoria can apply for a Sunday Pass at any metropolitan Premium Station, staffed V/Line station or at the MetShop. Find out more about the Sunday Pass.
