myki money or myki pass?
Whether you are a daily or occasional traveller, myki will suit you. Your myki can hold both myki money and myki pass. Choosing the right product for you depends on the way you travel.
myki money is best for you if:
- you travel infrequently and you want flexibility
- you like to pay as you go.
myki pass is best for you if:
- you commute or travel regularly in the same zone(s)
- you want the best value available.
myki pass AND myki money is best for you if:
- you normally travel in the same zone(s) but want the flexibility to occasionally travel to other zones.

myki fares are based on current Metcard fares.
If you previously used 2-hour or Daily tickets, you save money with myki because it automatically charges the lowest fare.
Your myki card can store
myki money, a
myki pass, or a combination of both at the same time. If you have
both, your myki pass covers your travel in the zone(s) for which it is valid. Your myki money pays for any travel outside of your chosen myki pass zone(s).
