About myki

These pages will help you find out which myki card type you need to travel on public transport and why you should register your myki card.

Passengers who fall into these customer groups are eligible for concession fares or free travel:

• Children aged three years and under: Children three years and under travel on public transport free, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
• Children aged four to 16 years: You do not need to carry proof of concession entitlement if you are aged four to 16 years and travelling with a child myki.

• Students
• Seniors
• Disability Support Pensioners & Carer Payment Recipients under 60 (DSP/CAR)
• Free Travel Pass holders
• Commuter Club members (business)

Other concession groups include:

• Victorian Health Care cardholders
• Pension Concession cardholders
• Victorian War Widows/War Veterans
• Disability Support Pensioners and Carer Payment recipients

All are entitled to concession travel, which is 50 per cent of the full fare rate.
