Register your myki

Registering your myki gives you extra benefits. These include:

  • balance protection in the event your card is lost or stolen
  • online account management to review your travel history
  • auto top up – automatically top up your myki card by direct debit from a linked bank account or debit/credit card
  • advance notification prior to your myki card expiring.

If you have an online account, you can log in to register another myki to your account.

Note: While you can use a myki bought at a retail outlet or a myki machine immediately, you must allow at least 24 hours before you can register it online. If you cannot register your card after 24 hours have passed, please call 1800 800 007.

Create an online account

Once you have registered your myki, create a myki online account to manage your myki card or multiple myki cards. Simply follow these steps:

Step 1 - Go to the online account set up page

Step 2 - Enter your:

  • 15-digit myki card number (located on the back of your card)
  • your name
  • your date of birth

Step 3 - Enter your:

  • preferred user name and password
  • contact email address
  • nominated security question (for example, mother’s maiden name)

Step 4 - Complete the Declaration section and then press 'Submit' (you will receive an email to confirm your online account creation has been successful)
