Concessions

When you receive your myki your concession entitlements will be transferred to your card.

There will be no changes to who is entitled to concessions or free travel as a result of myki. Anyone who is currently entitled to a concession or free travel will continue to receive it with myki.

Available to Primary, Secondary and Tertiary students with eligible student travel entitlements. Proof of concession must be accompanied at all times of travel for eligibility
International Student ID card
Not entitled except when travelling on V/Line, Great Southern Railways or CountryLink
Issued by Centrelink and the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA)
Issued by the Department of Victorian Communities (DVC) and is available to permanent residents of Victoria aged 60 or over who work less than 35 hours a week
Issued by Centrelink. Only cards with a Victorian address are valid for concession travel
Available to war veterans residing in Victoria who have undertaken war/peacekeeping/peacemaking services overseas and are in possession of a Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) Gold or White Card


Authorised free travel
Details
Entitles Victorian Seniors Card holders free travel on metropolitan trains, trams and buses within Zones 1 and 2 on Sundays
These passes are to be replaced by the Victorian Public Transport Free Travel Pass
Issued by the Metlink Central Pass Office to people who are legally blind (as defined in the Social Security Act 1991)
Provides free travel for the carer/companion of the cardholder on all public transport services
Issued by Centrelink to Victorian Pensioners
